Are you struggling to help your students see the relevance of their learning? Do your students often ask “Why” is this important for my future? Now, more than ever, it is critical to provide students with connections of their learning to future success.  Helping students envision their futures and providing them with the professionalism skills they need to excel in any career path is an opportunity to shift students' views about the value of their education.
This workshop will explore the Oregon Employability Skills and the open source OES curriculum, developed by Cherie Clark, WESD College and Career Manager and ODE, in partnership with industry from across the state. Curriculum resources will be shared and there will be workshop time to partner with other educators and create plans on how to incorporate the curriculum into your content. The curriculum is designed for both high school and middle school students and spanish versions of the curriculum are also available.
